Nevis Linux Cluster Services

This is the list of which machines provide the different network services on the cluster. If some terms are unfamiliar, you can try looking at the glossary.

LDAP servers

  • Main LDAP server: hypatia
  • Replica LDAP servers: shelley, hermes

Mail server

  • Main mail server: franklin
  • Mail file storage: benjamin

DNS servers

  • Primary DNS server for the nevis.columbia.edu domain: hermes
  • Secondary DNS servers: hypatia, intl-ns1.columbia.edu

Other services

  • Applications server: library (hecate)
  • Archive file server: archive (shang)
  • Condor central manager: condor
  • DHCP server: dhcpd (primary), dhcpdsec (secondary)
  • Backup server: luna
  • Log server: log (lincoln)
  • NTP (time) servers: hypatia, hermes, shelley
  • Print servers: cups
  • Web server: www (ada)
  • Mailing list server: listserv (sullivan)
